French Polynesia

In French Polynesia, power plugs and sockets (outlets) of type A, type B and type E are used. The standard voltage is 110 / 220 V at a frequency of 60 / 50 Hz.
- Yes, you need a power plug travel adapter for sockets type A, B and E in French Polynesia.
- You may also need a voltage converter.
Do your power plugs fit in French Polynesia?
In French Polynesia, they use power sockets (outlets) of type A, B and E. In North Korea, you have plugs A, C and F. You need a power plug adapter in French Polynesia for sockets type A, B and E. The plugs of your electric devices don't fit without.

- Check your devices with plug F. Some older plugs might not have the required pinhole for socket type E. In that case you still need a power plug adapter.
Buy a power plug (travel) adapter
We don't sell power plug adapters. We refer you to Amazon, where you will find a great selection of travel adapters.
You need to look for a power plug adapter for sockets type A, type B and type E. Alternatively, choose a world travel adapter that fits multiple sockets, in case you travel more often. Because you need a voltage converter as well (see below), you might want to use a combined travel adapter/voltage converter.
Voltage converter needed in French Polynesia?
In French Polynesia, two voltage levels are in use (110 / 220 V), which can vary by region, city, or sometimes even hotel. So please check the local voltage and your devices before using them! You cannot use your devices without a voltage converter if the local voltage exceeds the maximum voltage of your devices. Without a converter, you risk serious damage to your devices. Similarly, if the local voltage is lower, you also need a voltage converter.
- You may need a voltage converter, because the voltage in French Polynesia may vary locally and can conflict with your devices.
A voltage converter will ensure a safe input voltage level for your devices in French Polynesia. You can find voltage converters at Amazon. Because you also need a power plug adapter, you might want a combined plug adapter/voltage converter.
To be sure, check the label on your devices. Some devices never need a converter. If the label states 'INPUT: 100-240V, 50/60 Hz' the device can be used in every country in the world. This is common for devices with chargers like tablets/laptops, photo cameras, cell phones, toothbrushes, etc. For these devices you will only need a power plug adapter.
